What We Do 

We provide bespoke  advice (tele-advice) for long term health. Such as nutrition and other homeopathic and integrative options. If you want a second opinion but don't know where to go we are here for you. Lewis is here to support the 80% of pets who go to urgent care out of hours who don't need to be there and just needed advisement to get them through to their regular vet is available. 

Out of hours urgent care and longer in-depth consultations on alternative therapies are two areas where traditional vet practices often struggle to meet demand simply because time and resources are stretched. We’re here to bridge that gap.

Our founder created Lewis so that pet owners would never have to face a medical concern alone. We offer immediate, 24/7 access to Vets, offering advice and monitoring instructions from the comfort of your home. Whether you are travelling, in a remote spot, or your local clinic isn't available, our team is ready to help.

We provide bespoke recommendations designed to work in harmony with - not replace - the essential care from your pet's local practice. Our telemedicine services act as a collaborative bridge, offering personalised wellness plans that complement your own vet's hands-on diagnosis and treatment. We're happy to share our findings and liaise directly with your local vet so your pet's care stays joined up.

You can instantly connect with a Lewis Vet from any computer or mobile, with no app to download. Our Vets assess your pet in real-time to provide a clear plan of action, whether that involves guided home monitoring until your usual vet is available suggesting supportive care or a quick referral to the nearest emergency or out of hours vet practice.

If holistic, supportive care interests you, our vets can guide you through the options for your pet. Vets use these therapies alongside, not instead of, mainstream care

Whenever possible, consultations are conducted via secure video, allowing our veterinarians to visually assess your pet and provide the highest standard of care. Through video consultations, we help you understand your pet’s symptoms, determine whether care can likely be safely managed at home, or guide you quickly to in-person emergency services when necessary.

If video is not available, phone consultations may be used as an alternative to ensure you still receive timely veterinary guidance. We know how stressful and expensive emergency visits can be, and our goal is to bring clarity, reassurance, and expert direction to every decision you make.

Lewis strictly supports the RCVS standards and guidelines. 

 

What We Don't Do 

We're not a substitute for hands-on visits to your own vet

We don't prescribe antibiotics, anti-fungals, antivirals, anti-parasitics or Controlled Drugs. If a medicine needs a prescription, we believe your pet should be seen by a vet in person. 

This is a tele-advice service we work alongside your own vet, not instead of them, and doesn't replace the care your pet receives from a vet who has them 'under their care. 

Lewis does not currently provide equine advice. Our priority is to offer the highest standard of care to every animal we serve. We believe horses are best supported by a dedicated equine-focused service.

All consultations are provided by RCVS registered UK Veterinary Surgeons, with guidance focused on you and your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being.
